If you truly want to boycott anything, here’s what you do: Book it yourself. Get the shows you want to book. Play with the bands you want to play. The scene’s lost it’s DIY element, and it’s sickening to me.

I Have Heard the Mermaids Singing: A Valentine's Day Compilation -
Hey everyone! My band, Exploding Moustache, debuted our first song. It’s called “Inkblot”, and it can be downloaded FOR FREE on Shoreline Record’s kick ass Valentine’s compilation I Have Heard the Mermaids Singing.
There are a lot of other great artists on there as well (like Binary Heart, Figurehead, Friday’s Nightmare, etc…), so please check it out and tell your friends, enemies, lovers, parents, dogs, and any other person or creature you see fit!

This is Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel’s setlist from the Philadelphia show at the Irvine Auditorium on 1/25/12. It is hand written on the back of a receipt from HMS Host. He also added “Song Against Sex” to the encore right before “In the Aeroplane Over the Sea”. He called the crowd up to the front and out of their seats, and I was lucky enough to get close enough to obtain this. I have never treasured anything more.
